Captain John McLean has 5 years of shark fishing experience. Before he was catching sharks he played professional hockey. Big John was the tallest professional hockey goalie standing at 6’9“ tall. Since retiring in 2017 he focused on his next career path and became a charter captain. Captain McLean worked for Wave Cutter Charters as a deckhand for 2 years assisting with offshore fishing charters, commercial fishing and tournament fishing before attending Captains school. Captain McLean is extremely blessed to be running shark charters for a living. It is exciting for him to watch clients reel in sharks because you never know what’s going to be on the end of the line!
